Final Exam

1. Make three objects that use at least three of the following features: Revolve, Extrude, Round Edges, loft through profiles and sweep along trajectory. Assemble the parts.

2. Upload the parts and assembly to your wiki and create a link to them. Upload a screen shot of each part. Create screen shots of your assembly in orthographic and isometric. Label the views. Display the images no wider than 200 pixels.

3. Discuss your final project. (Sketchup, West Point Bridge, Fabrication) What was the most useful thing you learned from it? How will you be able to use the information from your final project outside of class?

The most useful thing that i learned from west point rdige is that if you want to have the strongest standing bridge and the safest one you must need to have many different trusses both on the top and on the bottom. You can use this out of class if you where to go to an enginerering school and had to build brdiges. Also if you wanted to become a brdige beuilder when you grow up you would learn how to be able to build the safest bridges with triangles and trusses.

4. What was the most interesting and useful thing you learned from this class. Explain.

The most interesting thing that i learned was defiantley pro desktop and creating things on it by usibng a computer. Before i took this class i never knew that you could make things on a computer. Throughout this whole class i made many different things and became familiaar with the software so i could make almost anythign i wanted. I made different lego designs and learned how to create my own webbsite. I learned how to export screenshots of the things i have made and then put them up on my wiki. All in all taking CAD made me do things with the computer that i never thoguht i could have done beofre. Aftre this class i have now learned alot about computers and am able to function with them more easily.

Here are examples of the work that i have done in pro desktop

Final Exam

ReVoLvE

This is the revolve profile that i did for the final exam.

ExTruDe

This is the extrude profile that i did for the final exam.

Term 2

Lego With Colors

In this tutorial i learned how to color legos. I had to align all of the pieces and mate all of them. I learned how to have more than one side hignlieghted at a time also.

Train

While making this train i learned how to align lego pieces. I also learned how to center the axises. I learned how to mate lego pieces which fixes them together and i learned how to offset the lego pieces so you dont have to free hand putting it on the other lego pieces.

Lego Building

A random building that i made. I am now able to align and mate legos with no problems thanks to the pro desktop lego tutorials. I learned also how to offset the products so you can havce a lego in the middle of another lego without aligning or mating.

Lego Ladder

A ladder i made using legos. I learned how to center axises with a axis pole and legos with holes in them.

Lego Car

This was a car that i made using the legos. This took me a long time to make but i was finally able to make it work after a while. I had to center many axises and align all of the parts together to make them fit together

Revolve 5

Circles that i revolved

Lego Bench

In this drawing i made a bench using legp pieces. I learned how to change the backround to maek the designs look cooler.

Lego Design

This is the lego design. To do this you had to download all of the parts and then add the components to your page. I learned how to add more than one object onto your design page which would let you be able to make a lego city. I learned how to center axises which helps get the axis through the axis holes. I learned how to allign products and get all of them to line up. I had another try with offsetting designs and this time it was much easier. I leanred how to put many pieces together and have all of them connected to each other

Term 1

Lofting Profile

This drawing taught me how to be able to lof through a profile. This was actually one of the easiest projects that i have done. I thought this would be hard becase it looks so complex and everthing but it wasnt at all. I now know how to loft a profile.

Sphere and Arch

In this design all i did was make a sphere and but an arch on top of it. I have been practicing this for a while at home using the software i have on my laptop. I was never to accomplish this until today though and the picture looks pretty cool.

Holy Block

With this drawing i learned how to dimension things on a A2 drawing. I learned how to add texts to the drawings to label them. This was much easier to do the second time around becasue i had more experience with doing it in the first one.

Revolve 4

Practicing my revolve drawings.

Revolve 3

Revolving more than one object at a time.

Revolve 2

A simple drawing that i revolved.

2D Simple Drawing

This drawing taught me how to do many different things with a 2 dimensional drawing. I learned how to write things using Pro Desktop which enabled me to label each of the drawings. I learned how to label radiuses diameters widths heights lengths and many other parts of shapes. This was confusing because there were many different labeling buttons which caused me to mess up several times. I learned how to change the size of font and change the color of it to. The 2 Dimensional product deffinatley helped me learn the most abotu Pro Desktop more than any other project that i have done before.

Moon and Circles

A basic design that i made with circles and a cresent moon and rounded the edges.

Cresent Moons and Stars

This was a project that i was goofing around with circles and i learned that i could make a cresent moon. i thought that it looked pretty cool so i decided to extrude the profile and makew multiple cresents. This project taught me how to be able to create a cresent moon and a star.

Sweep Design

This basic sweep design taught me how to dimension curved lines.

For the first time i had to create a second drawing in the lateral rather than always creating new sketches in the base one. Sweeping the project took me several trys but i eventually ended up getting it. I had tried this project at home on my laptop many times before but i had done the project completly for the first time today.

Name Drawing

This is just a picture that says my name that i made using Pro Desktop.

Revolve Funnel

This revolve funnel taught me how to revolve a object in a different shape other than the circle. This took me many trys to end up completing it right becuase i was always messing up with the axis line becuase i thought that it was part of the structure. After the demonstration we had in class i now know that you need to create an axis profile and just a regular profile to get the revolve to work. This project took me the most time out of any of the other ones that we have done so far.

Chamfered Box

This Pro Desktop drawing taught me how to chamfer edges on a rectangle. It waxs hard to do at first but once you know what do to it is very easy.

10/24

Random Revolve

This design taught me how to be able to revolve a profile. It also taught me how to create and axis line that enables you to revolve it. Lastly, I learned how to put multiple parts together and snip out other parts that enable you to have a weird design with different shapes.

Box with holes

This box was deffinatley the most easiest project that i have done using Pro Desktop. I learned how to creat circles passing through a box and learned how to exrude the profile and make new file names under the base for example. Even though this project was easy and took no time at all I thought that it looks pretty cool.

Helical Gear

The helical gear is so far the hardest object i have made by using Pro Desktop. I had the same amount of trouble as i did before wit h mirroring the gears. Once again i ended up getting lucky by clicking on the lines. Now i think i can pretty much make anything now that i have accomplished making the helical gear.

Simple Gear

The simple gear enabled me to be able to create a life like gear using the computer and Pro Desktop. I had a hard time mirroring the gear. It took me a while but i finally got lucky by clicking on lines and it ended up working.

hollowed out box

The box was probably the easiest or atleast one of the easiest things i have made using Pro Desktop. I learned how to extrude profiles and be able to hollow out circles and rectangles. It was easy to do becasue all you had to do was click on the side you wanted to hollow out and just type in a number and then hit subtract material then ok.

rectangle with circle

I learned how to be able to round edges. It was hard to figure out how to do it at first but the directions helped me out. I also learned how to exturde the profile to made it 3D. Lastly I learned how to have a circle go completley through the entire rectangle.

All in all Pro Desktop and the tutorials has let me be able to create things i never thought I could have done before.
